Work-in-Progress: Salakastar
“ALL BLUE: PART ONE (MAJORELLE!)” is an experimental R+B album and live performance which began as a journey through my personal healing process, but now we recognize the urgent need for healing as a collective global unit.
As an artist-in-residence at @poeticsocieties we have been working on healing using the color blue and its corresponding healing musical frequencies as well as conducting live telepresence concerts using remote technologies. This is "Tea Time,” shot in my home in Detroit by @glitteringgold. The track is produced by @feedmyzebra featuring 2018 Kresge Fellow @ahyasimone on harp. My hope is that everyone remains at home and will set up their space as a healing sanctuary and take this time to get connected with source. Please follow @shestoopstoconquer for upcoming Blue healing sessions.
In response to social isolation guidelines, Kresge Arts in Detroit asked Kresge Artist Fellows and Gilda Award recipients to give us a glimpse into their current and recent projects. Participating artists received stipends of $150, a quick response pivot of resources that could be implemented by the program as an immediate - albeit small level - of support to Detroit area artists.
